Biography Chester Bennington 

 Chester was a vocalist in a locally renowned band named Grey Daze and was given a mixtape from a band named Xero by a Zomba Music A&R executive in the latter part of 1998. Xero were searching for a new vocalist in the wake of Xero frontman Mark Wakefield's departure and started giving out demo tapes to try and find a replacement. After listening to the tape and liking what he heard, Chester wrote lyrics and recorded them over the tracks, then sent the tape back to the band. On his 23rd birthday in '99, Chester received a phone call from his Zomba contact saying the band were interested to meet him in person to try out for the lead vocalist spot. Chester flew to Southern California and met the Xero bandmates, then proceeded to completely blow them away in the audition. Not only did he impress the band, his performance also intimidated another vying candidate into leaving before his audition. Chester was a shoe-in for the vocalist spot. The band soon renamed themselves to Hybrid Theory and released their first material recorded with Chester on the Hybrid Theory EP soon afterwards in '99. Hybrid Theory would later change their ]name to Linkin Park.

Bennington is often labeled as the main source of raw emotion found in many of Linkin Park's songs. This stems from a problematic childhood plagued with the divorcing of his parents, sexual molestation, and heavy drug and alcohol abuse. Through writing music, Chester therapeutically released his pent-up frustration and anger. Instead of making the messages of his songs solely about himself, Chester's writing style uses universal emotions and relatable themes instead of situational lyrics to deliver his stories and help others. For this reason, Chester is regarded as a role model for millions of people who can relate to his messages. Chester has also realized his creativity through a number of musical endeavours besides that of Linkin Park. What initially began forming in 2005, ultimately became Chester working alongside Amir Derakh, Brandon Belsky, Elias Andra, and Anthony "Fu" Valcic of Julien-K & Ryan Shuck of Orgy & Julien-K to form the side-project, Dead By Sunrise. The band released their debut album Out Of Ashes on October 13th, 2009, and have played a number of shows in Europe. Chester also performs with his cover band, Bucket of Weenies from time to time too, a band dedicated to performing classic rock hits. B.O.W. is a collaboration of Chester on vocals, Ryan Shuck on guitar, Mike "Cheez" Brown on bass, Mike Rouse on guitar & Sean Dowdell on drums.
Chester has also devoted his talents to other projects outside of music, which include his very own clothing line in Ve' Cel, a label comprised of edgy designs aimed at embracing uniqueness and individuality in fashion. Chester also has a creative outlet in his tattoo business, Club Tattoo, which is a part-owned enterprise with long time friends Sean Dowdell and Thora Dowdell. In 2002, Bennington performed a song called "System" off of Queen of the Damned (soundtrack). He provided vocals with rock bands Cyclefly, Mötley Crüe, Latin rock band Santana, and more.

Linkin Park

 Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California, formed in 1996. Since their formation, the band has sold more than 50 million albums and won two Grammy Awards. It achieved mainstream success with its debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005. Its following studio album, Meteora, continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200?s album charts in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth greatest band of the music video era and the third best of the new millennium behind Oasis and Coldplay.

Having adapted the nu metal and rap rock genres to a radio-friendly yet densely-layered style in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, the band explored other genres in their next studio album, Minutes to Midnight. The album topped the Billboard charts and had the third best debut week of any album that year. They have also collaborated with several other artists, most notably with rapper Jay-Z in their mashup album Collision Course, and many others on Reanimation.

Band history

Early years (1996?1999)
Originally consisting of three high school friends, Linkin Park?s foundation was anchored by Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, and Rob Bourdon. After graduating from high school, the California natives began to take their musical interests more seriously, recruiting Joe Hahn, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell, and Mark Wakefield to perform in their band, Xero. Though limited in resources, the band began recording and producing songs within Shinoda?s make-shift bedroom studio in 1996. Tensions and frustration within the band grew after they failed to land a record deal. The lack of success and stalemate in progress prompted Wakefield, at that time the band's vocalist, to leave the band in search for other projects. Farrell also left to tour with Tasty Snax and other bands.

After spending a considerable time searching for Wakefield's replacement, Xero recruited Arizona vocalist Chester Bennington. Jeff Blue, the vice president of Zomba Music, had referred him to the band in March 1999. Bennington, formerly of Grey Daze, became a standout among applicants because of his unique singing style. The band changed its name from Xero to Hybrid Theory. The newborn vocal chemistry between Shinoda and Bennington helped revive the band, inciting them to work on new material. The band?s renaissance culminated with a change in name; from Hybrid Theory, the band changed its name to Linkin Park, a play on and homage to Santa Monica?s Lincoln Park. However, despite these changes, the band still struggled to sign a record deal. After facing numerous rejections from several major record labels, Linkin Park turned to Jeff Blue for additional help. After failing to catch Warner Bros. Records on three previous reviews, Jeff Blue, now the vice president of Warner Bros. Records, helped the band sign a deal with the company in 1999. The band released its breakthrough album, Hybrid Theory, the following year.

Musical style

Both Hybrid Theory and Meteora combined the alternative metal, nu metal, and rap rock sound with influences and elements from hip-hop, alternative rock, and electronica, utilizing programming and synthesizers. William Ruhlmann from Allmusic regarded it as "a Johnny-come-lately to an already overdone musical style," whereas Rolling Stone called "Breaking the Habit" "risky, beautiful art".
In Minutes to Midnight the band experimented with their established sound and drew influences from a wider and more varied range of genres and styles, a process Los Angeles Times compares to a stage in U2's work. In it, only two of the songs feature rapping, and the majority of the album can be considered alternative rock rather than nu metal or rap rock. It is also their first studio album to feature guitar solos.

In concert the band has covered songs by artists as varied as The Cure, Deftones, Guns N' Roses, and Nine Inch Nails.

Linkin Park's use of two separate vocalists has become a large part of their music. Chester Bennington is most known for using screaming vocals common in various forms of metal and hardcore, while also using more melodic singing, and was placed 46th in Hit Paraders list of "Heavy Metal's All-Time Top 100 Vocalists".

Mike Shinoda is the group's MC and does all of the rapping. Mike has also done all of the backing vocals live, and in their latest album, Minutes to Midnight, he sings lead vocals on "In Between", "Hands Held High", and the B-side "No Roads Left". Shinoda has also been placed in Hit Parader's list of "Heavy Metal's All-Time Top 100 Vocalists" at number 72.

In 1996, he was selected by the Phoenix Suns but the move received little fan support and Nash did not get much time on the court. A friend from his Santa Clara days convinced the Dallas Mavericks to make a trade for Nash in 1999. Here again, throughout the season, the fans would often boo the young Canadian player. However, over the next three seasons and with new management, Steve Nash and the team improved considerably. The team made the playoffs for the first time in a decade and Nash was reaching superstar status with his play. Nash was not re-signed by Dallas for the 2004-5 season as they would not match a contract offer by the Phoenix Suns. This season’s multitude of emotional thrill rides have been anything but entertaining.

Tonight’s loss to the Swans is just another of many lows in a season that has seen ups and downs not only on the pitch (see: Clattenberg disaster vs. United), but away from it. Consider the start to 2012: coming off the club’s landmark UCL win, the club was led by a Chelsea hero to the Premier League’s best start with a new-look team full of exciting summer signings.

Then, the skid happened.

Regardless of your opinion on the sacking of RDM, it certainly appears as though it was a forgone conclusion that only required the Italian slipping in the slightest. It stings, but it was apparently inevitable. Word comes down from the man upstairs that Rafa Benitez would be taking over, and the fan base goes a bit off the rails – and rightfully so.

Torres catches brief and meteoric form under his old boss, giving hope to supporters who just want to see the club succeed. A loss to Corinthians in Japan is unfortunate, but not shocking. The club takes stride again against lower-level opposition, and all is right with the world.

Now we’re looking at a week with losses to QPR and Swansea at home and a drubbing of Southhampton away from the Bridge. This is going to lead to a lot of yammering from speculative analysts and so-called experts.

However, the facts say that Rafa has led the team to the club’s worst start under a new manager since Mourinho.

So here’s my question for Abramovich: when will you realize the stability off the pitch usually leads to stability on the pitch?
